What is the best RPG you have ever played? My choice has to be Chrono Trigger. Love that game.

Pookie Powa!

My favorite has to be Final Fantasy 7 and 8, and if you count pokemon, then that too.

Chrono Cross and FF7, maybe it's because all games were better when you were younger :p.

It's a toss up between Chrono Trigger and Lufia 2

Yo

Oblivion.

I think sometimes people overlook it in favour of more hardcore rpg's but I've spent so much time on it, the amount of content and ambition the game had was brilliant.

Completely agree here. FF7 was my first and arguably the best I played. Chrono Cross was mad crazy with the story and what you could do in game. Also being to continue the game after it was over with all your gained experience and weapons was a major plus to the replay factor.

Golden Sun, for me. I haven't played any Final Fantasy games yet. I should do that, huh?

I really liked Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door, too. I still play it from time to time. If Pokemon counts, then them too. I really like the Version and the PMD series. Colosseum and XD were fun, too. The other spin-offs I have aren't really RPG's.

I've been playing Final Fantasy VII recently and gotten further than I've ever bothered before. But so far it seems really boring. I expect the gameplay will improve somewhat as I progress further. I can't believe I left out Oblivion. That was epic. Used to spend entire days of my life playing that. Thought the shivering isles were cool too. Currently attempting to play Breath of Fire all the way through without getting bored halfway into it.

Final Fantasy 7 is great and probably my favourite, but 10 was good too. If you count Pokemon then that'll be my favourite by a mile. Of all the games I'd say Crystal was the best, but I had most of my memories on my FireRed with my friends so that'd probably get the nod.

Others that I enjoyed were Digimon World, Golden Sun and this Lord of the Rings rpg which was really good.

I've heard much positive feedback for Final Fantasy. Any recommendations? I'm really considering putting one of these games on my Christmas list, and hopefully I'll get it. Which game should I start off, in your opinion?

(I feel like I was making a new topic there. :p )

Final Fantasy VII gets a bit slow in places so I wouldn't recommend it as your first Final Fantasy. The Gameboy advance remake of the original is good. Really hard though. X is nice and easy, a good place to start I think. II on the Super Nintendo is good too. There's no remake of that though. I also think VI is quite cool. They remade that one on the GBA too.

The really hard one perks my interest, for sure. But something tells me I shouldn't dive into hard games when I have no prior experience in the series. XD

I don't have a Super Nintendo, so, II isn't an option for me. I do have an NES, though. Who remembers how big and fat the games were back then? Now looking at the small DS games, it's hard to believe how far we've advanced in video gaming.

I think I'll try 10, according to your recommendation. I'll be sure to ask for it when holidays come around~

I usually just download old cartridge games. GBA, Super Nintendo, Sega Megadrive. The companies don't make any money on retro games anymore, so I'm not hurting anyone. Plus I like being able to save the game where ever I choose.

I don't feel comfortable downloading stuffs, personally. I would rather own the actual game myself.
